Who Should Use Botox® Cosmetic?
Patients exhibiting facial lines and wrinkles due to muscle action and aging can benefit from the use of Botox®. If you are between the ages of 18-65 years old, and you are bothered by lines either above the brow, near the eyes, or across the forehead, Botox® could be a realistic solution. Bay Area Botox® can also be used to treat migraines, joint pain, and excessive sweating. Factors such as skin type and thickness can determine the effectiveness of the treatment, and Dr. Iverson can evaluate and recommend appropriate solution to fit your needs.
How Botox® Works
Botox® is injected into facial muscles that tend to constantly contract, which causes unwanted lines and wrinkles. When injected, the muscles that are treated with Botox® become relaxed by blocking the nerves to the muscles. This is done by using a thin needle and a minuscule amount of clostridium botulinum. Numbing cream is rarely needed, as treatment for Bay Area Botox® lasts only about 30 minutes.
Botox® Risks, Recovery, and Considerations
Botox® is used in not only in the Bay Area, but in 70 different countries by more than 7 million patients. It is generally a safe and effective treatment for patients, but some can experience an allergic reaction. If this occurs, stop treatments immediately. Rubbing or massaging the treated area should be avoided because this can involuntarily spread the serum to other areas of the face, resulting in facial weakness and drooping. Other associated symptoms can include:
- Redness
- Headache
- Nausea
- Bruising or pain
Aside from the potential risks, the effective results of Bay Area Botox® will show after 3 to 4 days, and can last up to 3 to 4 months. Noticeable results will appear natural, normal, and specific to the treated areas, but to maintain these results, regular treatment every 3 to 6 months will need to be scheduled.
